Jane Campbell, the daughter of Albert and Rebecca Campbell, was born in Butler County, Ohio, July 30, 1825; died April 9, 1902, aged 76 years, 8 months, and 9 days.

She came with her parents to Indiana in 1828 and located in Fountain County. They located on the old homestead one fourth of a mile south of the cemetery where she was laid to rest.

In 1847 Mrs. Murdock was united in marriage to Citizen Murdock, who died May 14, 1891. This union was blessed with eleven children, five boys and six girls. Two of these children, a little infant and George Washington preceded her to the grave. Six daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Heady, of Nebraska, Mrs. Mary Gebhart, of Hillsboro, Mrs. Emma Melott, of Newtown, Mrs. Melissa Deth of Hillsboro, Mrs. Cedella Dwyre, wife of Rev. Clarence Dwyre, and Mrs. Elizabeth Quiggle, of Mellott, and three sons, William, who lives at the old home, Henry who lived at Wingate and John of Hillsboro survive her to cherish the memory of a beloved mother.

Mrs. Murdock was the last of her family of six children, all of whom with the father and mother rest in Campbell’s Cemetery, except one brother who was buried near Natchez, La.

She was a member of the United Brethren Church having identified herself with Campbell’s Chapel in 1893, since which time she has been one of its staunch supporters. She was zealous for the cause of Christ and died what is known to Christians as a triumphant death. The funeral was held at Campbell’s Chapel April 11, at 11 o’clock. Rev. C. W. Postill, of Wingate, preached the sermon. - thanks so much to "S"
