WAYNETOWN — Mrs. Alethea L. Murdock, 75, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday of a heart attack at her home in Waynetown. She had resided in Waynetown for 51 years. She was a retired employe of the Snyder LP Gas Co. in Waynetown, and owned the Springdell Development west of Waynetown. She and her husband had operated the former electric shop now known as Coons Electric. She attended the Waynetown Christian Church. Mrs. Murdock was born Sept. 11, 1896, near New Richmond, to Delbert and Sarah Vincent Pierce. She was graduated from New Richmond High School in 1914. She was married in 1916 to McKinley "Mac" Murdock. He died May 11, 1949. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Raymond L. (Sarah) Simmons of CMR 9, Crawfordsville, and two granddaughters, Cindy and Mitzi Simmons of Crawfordsville. One brother, Lester Pierce, preceded her in death. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, Waynetown, with Rev. Donald Selman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
