Waynetown, Feb 1 - Mary Elizabeth Munns, well known Waynetown HS student, passed away at the family home here this morning after a lingering illness. Death occurred at 6 o'clock and was caused by meningitis. She had been ill the past year and in serious condition the past two weeks. Miss Munns was born March 29, 1917 in Waynetown the daughter of Charles B. and Etta J. Merrell Munns. She had spent all her life here. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a junior in the local high school. Those surviving are the father, stepmother, two brothers, Merrell of Indianapolis and William of Marion, a half sister, Sara Jean of Waynetown, a grandmother, Mrs. Nannie Merrell of Crawfordsville; a step sister, Mrs. Herman Hamm of Hammond and a step brother, Lloyd Ellis of Veedersburg. Short funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock for the family. The body will lie in state at the Baptist Church from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. -- kbz thanks to Proctors :)
