Waynetown - William Mullen, 52, a member of the Wayne Township Advisory board and a prominent man in the community died at his home 2 miles south of here at a few minutes before 2 this afternoon after a week's illness with pneumonia. Mr. Mullen had been in failing health about a month before the pneumonia set in. Hope was held for his recovery, however, until a few hours before his death. Mr. Mullen was born in Wayne Township and had resided here all his life. He had been a member of the advisory board the past 6 years and was reelected for another term at the election last fall. He was a well-to-do-farmer. The deceased is survived by his widow, four sons, Homer of Know (sic) Ind; Jesse, Roy and John of Wayne Township and two daughters, Lena and Hazel, at home. One brother, Frank of near Waynetown and four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Keys of Illinois; Mrs. Jason Keys; Mrs. John Hendricks of near Waynetown and Mrs. George Risk of Lizton are also living. Funeral arrangements had not been completed this afternoon. -- kbz
