WAYNETOWN, Ind. — Mrs. Sarah R. Mullen, 81, of Crawfordsville, a former Waynetown resident, died at 8 a.m. today (Feb. 21, 1970) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, where she had been a patient since suffering a stroke four days ago. She had resided in Waynetown most of her life, moving to Crawfordsville in 1960. Born March 17, 1888, near New Ross, she was the daughter of Samuel and Nancy Shepherd Mitchell. On Dec. 24, 1906, she was married to Moses F. Mullen who preceded her in death in 1960. Educated in rural schools and in Ball and Green Schools in Waynetown, she was a member of the Old Ridgefarm Church south of Waynetown. Surviving are a son, George Mullen of West Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Vina Switzer of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Mary Kinnamon of rural Russelville; one sister, Miss Emma Mitchell of Crawfordsville; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with the Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.
