Rufus Mullen, 76, Rt 5, died this morning in Culver Hospital. Mr. Mullen maintained the Darlington Armory and drove a school bus for the North Montgomery School Corp. He also operated a pool room at Darlington at the time of retirement. He was a member of the Darlington Congregational Christian Church and the Darlington American Legion Post. Mr. Mullen served in WWI. Born Jan 14, 1900 in Montgomery County he was the son of John W. and Otta Mae Click Mullen. He was married to Helen Lewis Sept 10, 1936 at Indianapolis. She survives Also surviving are three sons, Donald L; Robert W and John C. of Darlington; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Sue McCutchan of New Ross; a brother, Cecil of Anderson; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Stephenson of Linden; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, David and Richard and a brother,Rayburn. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Burkhart Funeral Home Darlington Chapel. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday - kbz
