Waynetown - Jesse Mullen, 77 of Rt. 2, Waynetown died at Culver Hospital at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. He had been seriously ill for 8 days after suffering a heart attack at his home Monday, March 28. He was taken to Culver Hospital at that time. Mr. Mullen had been a farmer during his lifetime in Wayne Twp. Born July 12, 1888, in the township, he was the son of William and Saretta (sic) Ellen Hoff Mullen. He married Zula E. Sayers at the bride's home in Wayne Twp on Dec 26, 1909. He was a member of the Christian Union Church and 50--year member of Waynetown Masonic Lodge 302. Mr. Mullen was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Homer, Roy and John, and two grandchildren, Catherine and Ray Wilkinson. Survivors include the widow; 3 daughters, Mrs. Elsworth Foreman and Mrs. Bernard Kyle, both of Elkhart and Mrs. Charles Wilkinson of Rt 2, Wayentown; 7 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Larence Davis of Rt 6, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Ray Thompson of Rt 1, Waynetown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev John Servies, a former pastor of the Christian Union Church and Rev. Myron Hinton of the Waynetown Baptist Church will officiate. Burial in Waynetown Maosnic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. - kbz

WAYNETOWN - Funeral services for Jesse Mullen were held at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown Friday afternoon with Rev. John Servies and Rev. Myron Hinton officiating. Organ music was played by John Kirkpatrick, great-nephew of the deceased, who included special request numbers, "Lead Kindly Light" and "Abide With Me." The pallbearers were John Schenck, David Rush, Merle Sennett, Virgil Wilkinson, Paul Dazey, V.C. Blackford, Robert Landis and Joe Rice. Burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
