Waynetown Feb 22 - Homer Mullen, 55, former resident of this city, died at Mercy Hospital in Gary Tuesday morning at 7:15 following an illness of 8 weeks. He had lived in Gary the past 20 years. Born on a farm 3 1/2 miles south of here on July 12, 1888, he was the son of W.H. and Serepta E. Hoff Mullen. He was married in 1914 to Grace Follick. Mr. Mullen was a member of the Masonic Lodge. The survivors include the widow; one son, Robert, who is an Army air cadet; Mrs. John Smith and Miss Virginia Mullen, both of Gary; one grandson; the mother, Mrs. Serepta Mullen of Waynetown; a twin brother, Jesse of Waynetown, another brother, John, also of Waynetown and two sisters, Mrs. Ray D. Thompson and Mrs. Lawrence Davis, both of this place. There are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The funeral party will arrive from Gary shortly before the services.
