LAFAYETTE - Mrs. Edith Mullen, 69, of 3638 Kohl Road, Lafayette, a native of Darlington and past state president of PTA, died at 6 a.m. today in Home Hospital at Lafayette. She was a member of the Linwood Church of Christ, Alpha Delta Sorority, Women's Christian Temperance Union and Wea Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Mullen was a Grey Lady at Home Hospital. She had attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Mrs. Mullen was born Oct. 26, 1906, a daughter of William R. and Grace L. Burkart Martin. She was married to Silas B. Mullen on Dec. 28, 1925. He died June 11. Surviving are five sons, James, John and Philip of Lafayette, Joseph of Indianapolis and Samuel of Crawfordsville; five daughters, Mrs. Marilouise Stanley of Lafayette, Dr. Wahneta Mullen of Iowa City, Iowa, Mrs. Elmer (Nonah) Johnson of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Max (Esther) Baker of Imperial Beach, Calif., and Mrs. William (Lois) Bailey of Chesterton; two brothers, Lawrence Martin of Boswell and Richard Martin of New Richmond; 10 sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Winger and Mrs. Jack Gay of Lafayette, Mrs. Alonzo Booher of Petit, Mrs. Lester Skeen of Thorntown, Mrs. Charles Hopkins of Indianapolis, Mrs. Marie Guard of Linden, Mrs. Walter Smith of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Wilbert Chambers of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Simon Deeb of Rochester and Mrs. David Snellenbarger of New Richmond; 44 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside rites will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Bowers Cemetery four miles west of Colfax. The family requests that memorials be made in the form of donations to Ladoga Christian Children's Home.
