O. L. MYERS life resident of Parke County died Thursday of
last week at his home west of Waveland. Death was caused by heart
attack. Born July 26, 1870 the son of John Anderson and Mary
Elizabeth MYERS, he married Laura LITSEY who preceded him in
death Feb 9, 1940. Mr. Myers was a vice president and director of
the Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance and had been an agent for
the company for 40 years. He was a member of the Marshall
Federated Church and Masonic & Woodmen Lodges of Marshall.
There survive two sons: Fred of Waveland and Oscar of Marshall; 3
daughters, Mrs. Bernice JARVIS of Waveland; Mrs. Alice HOCKETT
and Mrs. Virginia McCampbell of Marshall; two sisters, Mrs.
Dollie CANINE and Miss Tina Myers of Marshall; a brother, Jess of
Linnsburg; 9 grandchildren and six greats and one foster
grandson. A daughter, Mary preceded him in death in 1918. Funeral
services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the
Marshall Federated Church conducted by Rev. Milo Hinkle. Burial
in Bethany Cemetery.
