James MURPHY 79 died last night at 11:45  at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel Hamm on Railroad Street  Fiskville after an illness covering a period of 4 years, hardening of  the arteries being cause of demise. The deceased was born in Dublin,  Ireland and came to this country with his parents when a small boy. The  most of his life has been spent in this city and for many years he was a  section foreman on the Monon railroad. Of a family of several children  he is survived by two Mrs. Hamm at whose home he died and Joseph Murphy.  Mr. Murphy was a highly respected citizen and well known to our older  inhabitants. He was a member of St. Bernard's church. The arrangements  for the funeral have not yet been made. - transcribed by kbz
