WAYNETOWN  -- Mary (Edna) Munns, 75, died suddenly of a heart ailment at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at her home here. She was born Jan. 6, 1884, near Wallace, a daughter of John and Clarinda Philpott Livengood. She was twice married - in 1901 to Henry Ellis, who died June 5, 1918, and in 1923 to Charles B. Munns, who preceded her in death Jan. 12, 1950. Mrs. Munns was a member of the local Christian Church. She was educated in the Wallace schools. She and her first husband operated a buggy shop south of Hillsboro and she and Mr. Munns a grocery store in Waynetown until his death. Survivors are two daughter, Mrs. Grace Hamm of Hammond and Mrs. Sara Jean McGheheny of Bloomington; a son, Lloyd Ellis of Veedersburg; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a niece, Miss Helen Grimes, who lived with Mrs. Munns the last three years; a nephew, Wayne Livengood of Rosedale, and two stepsons, W. D. Munns of Bloomington and C. M. Munns of Columbia City. Also preceding her in death were a son, Harold Ellis; step daughter, Mary Elizabeth Munns; a sister, Mrs. Emma Grimes, and brother, Omer Livengood. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Servies Funeral Home with Rev. John R. Servies officiating and burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
