Mote - Jeremiah

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal, 8 February 1901

Jeremiah Mote, was born Feb 13, 1820, died at his home in Darlington on Feb. 4, 1901, at the age of almost 81 years. He was married to Elizabeth Wilson during the year 1841, she dying in 1894. During all these years they have lived in and around Darlington, known and respected by all. During his earlier life he worked at his trade, carpentering. Then during the year 1851 he moved to a farm near Garfield, again moving to Darlington some ten years ago. Since the death of his wife he has made his home with his daughters, Ida and Clella. He has long been a consistent member of the south Christian church, and died in the full hope of a future reward. Thus one by one the old familiar faces are passing away and soon those that now know us will soon know no more. - thanks to Kim H
