Allen Morrison died Thursday Feb. 8, 1900, at 1:30 p. m., aged 75 years 8 months and 16 days. He was born in Sullivan Co., Tennessee, May 22, 1824, and in the autumn of 1835, when he was eleven years of age, came to this state with his parents. He was married Nov. 23, 1848, in his twenty-fifth year, to Elvira Routh. He united with the Christian church in the year 1850 and was, at his death, one of the few remaining members who helped to establish the Christian church at New Ross. For many years he was a faithful attendant at divine services, but in his later years being afflicted with age's frequent infirmity, deafness, he remained at home in the quiet of his own fireside, and was but little seen abroad. Ten children were born to Mr. Morrison and wife, all of whom are alive to-day save two. His wife died March 18, 1874.
