Morris survive and are residents of this community. Mrs. Aurilla B, wife of William E. Bunnell, died in 1888. Julia May, another daughter died at the age of 10 years and a son died in infancy. Harriet died Jan 29, 1869. His second marriage was to Margaret E. Ross Oct 15, 1873. She departed this life in 1909 since which time Mr. Morris had lived quietly alone. Mr. Morris was the seventh of nine children, and of these one sister only, Mrs. Fereby Boughner of Covington, 84 years old, is the last survivor of the family an was present at her brother’s funeral. He leaves also eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grand children. Mr. Morris came to this community nearly forty years ago and had long been a resident of New Richmond. He had been actively identified with all that contributed to the agricultural interests of this country for the last two generations. He was always active in his habits, exceedingly energetic, and scrupulously honest. Although he only recently confessed his faith in his Savior, he always believed in the Supreme Ruler of the world. Only a few days prior to his death he identified himself with the Pleasant Hill Christian church of Wingate, through the offices of its pastor, Rev. A. E. Bagby, and Mr. Morris died in the belief that he would enter His presence in full confidence. The funeral occurred from his late home at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning, the services being conducted by Rev HD Dick, pastor of the New Richmond ME Church. Interment was made in the Salem cemetery near Attica, beside the body of the bride of his youth. It was a motor funeral procession. – kbz
