Mrs. Albert Morris, 71, 220 W. Main St, died Saturday night in a hospital at Kennewick, Wash. She had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. J. Franklin Dodson of Kennewick while en route to Hawaii with a group on a vacation tour. Mrs. Morris became ill Thursday and had been hospitalized about one-half hour at the time of her death. Born June 10, 1890 in Elmdale she was a daughter of William A. and Elizabeth Baldwin Branson. Mrs. Morris attended school in Waynetown and moved to this city in September of 1908. She was married Oct 20, 1912 at Waynetown to Albert P. Morris. Mr. Morris, who was associated with Morris & Jack Gardners and Florists on the Country Club Road died June 12, 1956. Mrs. Morris was a member of the First Baptist Church for more than 50 years, Marion Kimble Missionary Circle and King’s Daughters Sunday School Class of the church. She was the first president of the Mt. Zion PTA and also served as president of the Montgomery County Auxiliary of Leprosy Missionary. For more than 50 years she was a member of the Suburban Stitchers and was a member of the Union Chapel Home Economics Club and Senior Citizens Club. She also was active in the Grey Ladies Organization. Survivors include the daughter with whom she was visiting and another daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Key of Crawfordsville; two sons, Donald R. Morris and Robert W. Morris, both of Crawfordsville, two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Dorsey of Crawfordsville and Mrs. JR Thornell of Cincinnati; a brother, Albert Brannon of Dayton, Ohio and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bright Funeral Home here with Rev. Carlton Christenson in charge. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday. - kbz
