Chester Lowell Morgan, 41, Marine veteran of World War II and a machine operator in the bindery department of R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co., died Thursday morning in Culver Hospital where he had been a patient three hours. He was taken to the hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home, 905 W. Market St. In service with the Marines from 1941 to 1946 and from 1951 to 1952, Mr. Morgan joined the Donnelley organization after returning from World War II duty. Born March 3, 1915, at Perry, Iowa, the son of William and Amanda Morgan, Mr. Morgan married Alma Bennett at Indianapolis June 28, 1947. Active in veterans affairs since establishing his residence in this city, Mr. Morgan was former vice commander and membership chairman of Byron Cox Post of the American Legion. He also had served as a member of the post's executive committee. Mr. Morgan attended the First Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Montgomery Masonic Lodge. Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Shirley Morgan; two sons, Ricky and Rodney Morgan: a sister, Mrs. Eugene Wehner of Lafayette; a half-sister, Mrs. Lola Knobe of Morton, Ill.; a half-brother Howard Grimes of Morton, Ill.; and a niece, Betty Bennett of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Donald McMahan will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home. The place of burial has not been determined. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Byron Cox Post of the American Legion.

Donnelley & Sons, who died suddenly Thursday in Culver Hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home, will be buried at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Donald McMahon will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home. Byron Cox Post of the American Legion, of which Mr. Morgan was a member and former officer, will conduct military rites at the graveside. Full military honors were accorded Chester L. Morgan Saturday afternoon during graveside rites at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Services were held at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home earlier in the afternoon, with Rev. Donald McMahon of the first Methodist Church officiating. Organ selections were played by Miss Julia Wilson. Assisting as pallbearers and flowerbearers were Robert Myers, Keith Plank, Calvin Miller, Lloyd Leonard, Avery Hinton and Donald Coffman. The military salute was given by a 15-member squad representing Byron Cox Post of the American Legion of which Mr. Morgan was a former vice commander and former executive committeeman. Richard Poore, the post's third vice commander and chairman of the ceremonials committee, commanded the military escort. Ray Abbott sounded taps. Commander Poore and Ned Cunningham presented the flag to Mrs. Alma Bennett Morgan, widow of the deceased. Those serving as members of the firing squad were Robert Lowe, Jason Keim, Byron Hamm Jr., Loren Rutledge, Pat Keller, Robert Oliver and Clifford Farmer. The members of the color guard were Andy Browning, Bob McDevitt, Dick Kenyon and James Clark. The color bearers were William Blackford and V. C. Blackford, both of Waynetown.
