-- Lafayette - Ferdinand (Ferd) R. Morehouse, 58, of Rt 5, Lafayette died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital here. He had been hospitalized since Monday and in declining health one year. Mr. Morehouse was superintendent of line crews in the Lafayette District of Public Service of Indiana. He had been employed by the utility for 31 years. Born March 23, 1908, near Delphi, he was reared near Brookston and attended high school there. He had resided in the Lafayette area since 1930 and was a member of the Congress Street Methodist Church here. He was married in 1928 to Lodema Vancleave. They were married at Crawfordsville. Survivors include his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Morehouse of Rt 7, Frankfort; two sons, Max of Montmorenci and James of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald Bush of Rt 5, Lafayette; three brothers, Wilferd of Rt 7, Frankfort; Edward of Darlington and Robert of Detroit; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Smith of Earl Park, Mrs. Loreena Smith of Lafayette and Mrs. Marjori Shiers of Lafayette; and 11 grandchildern. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thurday at Soller-Baker West Chapel in West Lafayette in charge of Hippensteel Funeral Home, Rev. Newton T. Gottschall will officiate. Interment will bei n Tippecanoe Memory Garden at West Lafayette. Friends may pay their respects at Soller-Baker West Chapel after 4 p.m. Wednesday. - kbz
