Moore - Merle

Merle M. Moore, 71, of Homer, died of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 while operating a tractor pulling a wagon near the farm operated by Harry Webster, a mile southwest of manilla.
Mr. Monroe was driving the tractor and wagon to the elevator at manilla when he suffered the attack and the tractor and wagon left the road, going through a ditch and fence into the field nearby.
Dr. Robert Johnson, county coroner, was called, who pronounced death due to the heart attack. Mr. Moore had been suffering with a heart ailment for some time. He worked "extra" on the Carmony farm near Manilla driving tractors and such.
Mr. Moore was born in Waveland January 10, 1991, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, and was a member of the Waveland Christian Church.
He married Myrtle Thrall Drake February 9, 1929, who survives with three children. Mrs. Marion Krammer of Homer, Mrs. Lois J. Baker at home; Robert M. Moore near Manilla, and nine grandchildren. His first wife, Mary M. Hodges, died in 1918.
Funeral services will be held at the Carmony Funeral Home in Manilla Friday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. W.B. Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
