James E. MOORE, 77 prominent farmer of Union Twp and father of Sheriff William MOORE, was found dead in the barn at his home north of Bellmore about 7 o'clock Sunday morning. Mr. Moore had gone out to do the morning chores and was found dead a short time later by his son-in-law, Glenn Porter. He had been in good health and had been in Rockville on Saturday night. Death was caused by heart failure. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mt. Moriah Church with Rev. CR Airhart of Crawfordsville officiating. Burial was made in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Victoria Moore, 3 sons, William of Rockville; Charles of Waveland and Frank of Bellmore; 5 daughters, Beaulah Moore of Washington DC; Mrs. Edith Sturgeon of Bellmore; Mrs. Mary Hamilton of Bellmore; Mrs. Glenn Porter and Mrs. Helen Wilson both at home. The deceased was a lifelong resident of the county and was one of its leading citizens. The community around Bellmore and the entire county will greatly miss Mr. Moore. - kbz
