Harvey MOORE, son of Samuel and Minerva Moore was born Jan 1, 1865 at the family home just east of Waveland and departed this life Sept 8, 1951 at age 86 years 8 months 7 days. He lived near Waveland for many years and after his work had taken him to different states and many places, he returned to Waveland that he considered his home. In early manhood he married Nettie McIntosh, but he was widowed after a few short years. After the death of his wife, Mr. Moore never stayed in one place very long at a time until he went to live with Edward Heslar near Milligan. He remained there until Mr. Heslar's death two years ago. At that time he went to live at the Parke County Home. Although blind and crippled, Mr. Moore's hearing was good and mind was keen. He also kept his ability to laugh and enjoy his friends. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his jovial welfare of his talent in facing the vicissitudes of life. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Nels Iverson of Long Beach, Calif; one brother, Henry Moore of San Diego, California; a number of nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral was conducted at Machledt Funeral Parlors by Rev. GN McBrayer Sunday afternoon at 3:30 with burial in Moore Cemetery east of Waveland. - kbz
