Moore - Emily Jarvis

Entered into rest Emily Josephine (nee JARVIS) MOORE, widow of TK Moore, Civil War Veteran. After suffering several days with bronchial pneumonia, she passed away April 19 at Muncie, IN. She was born Oct 27, 1848 near Waveland and spent her entire life in Indiana excepting two years when a child she lived in Illinois. She united with the Christian Church of Waveland at the age of 21 under pastorate of Rev. CG Bartholomew. She was married to TK Moore, March 16, 1876, who preceded her in death 17 years ago. She was the eldest daughter of John and Mary Smith Jarvis. To this union 5 sons and one daughter was born all of which are still living. She leaves 3 sisters: Mrs. Jennie COURTNEY; Lizzie and Maggie Jarvis and one brother, Will Jarvis all of Waveland. The floral offerings were many beautiful. She loved flowers and has gone where they never fade and she can see them as of old as her eyesight failed her just before she died. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A host of sorrowing relatives and friends attended her funeral at the Seceder Church in Parke County where she lies at rest in the quiet country Cemetery to awaken on the resurection morn where we will meet her again.
