Moore - Beulah

Miss Beulah L. Moore of Washington DC died at her home there Friday night Oct 21. Born near Bellmore, she was the daughter of James E. and Victoria Watson Moore. She graduated from Bellmore and was a member of Portland Mills Christian Church. At one time she did practical nursing in the Waveland community. Since 1919, she has resided in Washington DC and was a government worker in the General Accounting Dept. Miss Moore had been in failing health since 1950. Because of complications of her illness, she retired this spring from her position. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Edith Sturgeon of Greene Twp, Mrs. Mary Hamilton of Bellmore, Mrs. Ruby Porter of Terre Haute, Mrs. Helen Wilson of Washington DC; and three brothers, Charles M. of Waveland; William T. of Rockville; Frank L. of Bellmore. The body lay in state at the Hines Mortuary in Washington until Sunday at which time it was escorted back to Indiana and taken to Branson Funeral Home, Rockville where services were conducted by Rev. Trousdale at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Nephews serving as pallbearers were Melvin Sturgeon, Danville, Ind; Donald James Porter, Rock Island, Ill; John Stark Moore, Bellmore, Billy Joe Moore, Brownsburg, Clarhud Moore, Waveland; Bill Freeland, Dayton, Ohio. John Rusk of Greencastle sang favorite hymns of Miss Moore's.
