Walter A. Moore, 87, who was a blacksmith during most of his life until his retirement, died Sunday afternoon at his home, 107 North street. Death followed two weeks of serious illness although Mr. Moore had been in poor health for several months. Born August 3, 1867, in Montgomery county, Mr. Moore was the son of John and Eliza Moore. He was married to Marie Elizabeth Doty, who preceded him in death in 1925. Mr. Moore, a member of the Indiana national guard in Crawfordsville was given his honorable discharge from the guard to join the army in the Spanish-American War. He had membership in the Methodist Church. Mr. Moore is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edna L. Burrows of Indianapolis and Mrs. Nellie Hollinger of Bryan, Ohio, and three sons, Donald F. Moore of Denver, Colo.; James D. Moore of Norwalk, Calif., and Floyd W. Moore, Los Angeles. He also had six sisters. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Hunt and Sons Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Donald F. McMahan. Burial will take place in the Masonic Cemetery.
