NEW RICHMOND—Smith Moody, 77, for 44 years a prominent farmer of Tippecanoe and Montgomery Counties, died at 5 p.m. Friday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, after a two weeks' illness. He was a native of Monroe County, Kentucky, born Aug. 5, 1879, to Arnold and Elizabeth Maxey Moody. He was married in 1912 to Anna Jenkins at Thompsonville, Ky. Mr. Moody was an active member of the New Richmond Christian Church, in which he held several offices. Surviving besides the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Raymond Wise of Clarks Hill, Mrs. George Henderson of Western Springs, Ill., and Mrs. Kenneth Dailey of Lafayette; two sons, Reed Moody and Charles Moody of Indianapolis, the latter a medical student; one sister, Mrs. H. B. Wray of Thompsonville, Ky., eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral rites will be held at 2:30 Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home in Linden with Rev. John Cachiaras of New Richmond officiating. Interment will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Linden after 2 p.m. Saturday.
