Roachdale -- Rapha Ernest "Jum" Moody, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Roachdale area died shortly after 7 1.m. Wednesday at the Golden Manor Nursing Home in Ladoga. He had been in failing health the past two years. Mr. Moody was a member of the Roachdale Christian Church. Born July 23, 1887 in Putnam County, he was the son of John and Patience Dodds Moody. His first marriage was to Rettie Maude Moody Dec 29, 1909 in Lebanon. She preceded him in death. He was married Dec 17, 1938, to Hettie Keck in Franklin. In addition to the widow survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edna Berniece Smith and Mrs. Nema Klobeear; two adopted sons, Ronald A. Inabnit and Clarence Inabnit an adopted daughter Joyce Shinn and 16 grandchldren. Mr. Moody was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Perkins Funeral Home in Roachdale. Burial will be in North Barnard Cemetery about six miles east of Roachdale. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday. - transcribed by kbz
