George Nathan Moody, son of Sanford N. and Katie Moody, was born in Waveland March 19, 1901 and departed this life Sept 17, 1917, aged 16 years 5 months 28 days. George was taken seriously ill with typhoid fever two weeks ago, Monday and on account of his critical condition was moved from his home to Culver Union Hospital, where everything was done that possibly could have been done to save him, but it was the "Lord's will, as He knows best in all things," and he was called home Monday morning at 3:30. During his illness he was very patient and all his thoughts were of his getting well and returning to school. He would have been in the 8th grade, and will be greatly missed by his classmates. George was a boy who was well thought of by all who knew him, having a good disposition and fine character. He is survived by his father, Sanford Moody, his stepmother, 3 brothers - Edward of Lovejoy, Montana, Paul of Crawfordsville and Clem of this place - two sisters, Margaret and Catherine, and one step sister, Wanetah all at home, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moody of this place, and his grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Hastaday of Crawfordsville, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. His mother preceded him in death six years ago this January also a brother died in infancy. He attended the Christian Sunday School. Although not a member of any church, he was a good, christian boy. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. J.E. Stone and were largely attended. Interment at Maple Ridge.
