George W. Montgomery, son of Simpson and Orpha Montgomery, died last night at his home in Linden. He was born in Montgomery County in 1840. At the beginning of the Civil War he enlisted in Co. E, 72nd Reg. Ind. Vol. About two years ago he received a severe hurt upon the head by jumping off a moving train which resulted finally in his death. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss.
