WAVELAND — Lew V. Monroe, 89, retired farmer of this area, died Iate Thursday evening at Lane House Nursing Center. A native of Lena, Ind., he was born Oct. 28, 1881. He farmed many years in Parke and Montgomery counties. Until 1966 he resided with Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Tague in Waveland. Surviving is a cousin, Mrs. Loretta Piety of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am. Saturday at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home here, with Rev. Grover DeNeal officiating and burial in Freedom Cemetery.
