Waynetown — Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie C. Moffett, age 84, a native of Fountain County, who died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 6, in the Ben Hur Home at Crawfordsville, were held at 3 p. m. Friday at the Servies Funeral Home here. The Rev. John Servies officiated and burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. She had been in failing health for several years and had lived at the nursing home the last four years. She had been seriously ill since last November. Mrs. Moffett was born in Fountain County Dec. 6, 1878, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Burgner Campbell. She was married Aug. 11, 1901 to Henry L. Moffett, who preceded her in death in 1951. She was educated in the Fountain County Schools. Mrs. Moffett was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church and a past president of both the Flower Lovers Club and Cain Township Home Economics Club. Mr, and Mrs. Moffett began housekeeping on a farm southwest of Waynetown on the Montgomery-Fountain County Line Road, where a grandson, Lee, now lives. She lived there and in Waynetown until going to the Ben Hur Home. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Opal Moffett of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Lee Moffett of Waynetown Rt. 1, and Mrs. Ruth Hansen of Eatonville, Wash.; three great-grandchildren, Barbara Jo and David Allen Hansen and James Lee Moffett; one sister, Mrs. Edna Rusk of near Hillsboro, and one brother, Frank Campbell of near Attica. --typed by Walt W
