Lee F. Moffett, 72, Waynetown died 4:35 p.m. Sunday in the Indiana Heart Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Moffett was a farmer and small business owner. He retired from farming in 1986., He owned and operated Moffett Small ENgines from 1986-2003. He was a 1949 Hillsboro HS graduate and attended Purdue University where he was an Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity member. He served as an airman in the AF from 1950-54. His other memberships included: Hillsboro Christian Church, where he was a former elder and church board chairman; 50-year member and past master of Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 385; Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute; Murat Shrine and Montgomery County Shrine Club. He also served as former director of Fountain County Coop; former director of Indiana Farm Bureau Cooperative Association; former director and secretary of Fourth Federal Farm Credit District of Louisville; and on US Sen. Dan Quayle's Agriculture Advisor Committee. He was born Feb 23, 1931 at Crawfordsville, to Russell and Opal Brown Moffett. He married Marily Polite on Aug 19 1956. She survives at Waynetown. Also surviving are a son, James L, St. Louis, Mo; a sister, Ruth Moffett Caswell, Seattle Wash; and a grandson. Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Thursday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 S., Indiana 25, Waynetown with Rev. Brian Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Hillsboro Christian Church or Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 385.
