Jamestown -- Elzie O. Modlin, 77, a former Jamestown resident died at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Hospital at Anderson after a three-month illness. Mr. Modlin retired in 1958 from Federal Mogul Bower Bearings. He had previously been an employee of Union Traction Co. He had resided at Anderson 10 years. He was a member of the Pentacostal Church at Anderson, Waverly Masonic Lodge No. 615 and Killbuck Retirees Club. A Montgomery County native, he was born March 13, 1893, a son of Samuel H. and Ida Algood Moglin (sic - Modlin). Surviving are his widow, Elsie; a daughter, Mrs. Edgar Highbaugh; two sons, Damob (sic - Damon) and Meredith; three brothers, Kenneth, Audrey and Delbert; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Pace and Mrs. Cyril Masten; four step children; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Perkins Funeral Home at Roachdale with Rev. Ray Britton officiating. - transcribed by kbz
