The funeral of the late JOHN E. D. MOUNT will be held at the Missionary Baptist Church tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. E. R. Johnson will conduct the ceremony according to the rites of the I. O. G. T. [International Order of Good Templars] The members of the Haddock Lodge will assemble at 1 p.m. at the lodge room tomorrow. The pall bearers will be furnished by the Haddock Lodge. Interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Death of J. E, D, Mount. John E. D. Mount died on Thursday at his home in Fiskville, of nervous prostration, aged 61 years. He leaves a wife and four children. The funeral occurred today under the auspice of the.Good Templars - thanks to Kim H for these :) You rock, girly !

The Funeral of J. E. D. Mount. The funeral services of the late J. E. D. Mount took place at the Missionary Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The remains were taken from the house, in Fiskeville, followed by number of carriages and buggies. The procession was met at the Good Templars hall by the members of that order who proceeded it to the church. "Rock of Ages" was sung, after which a few verses were read from the Scripture by Rev. E. R. Johnson and prayer offered by Rev. G. P. Fuson. The choir then sang "Nearer My God to Thee." Rev Johnson then delivered the funeral oration. The members of I. O G.T. order and the persons present then viewed the remains. The Good Templars formed procession again and marched to the grave, at the Odd Fellows cemetery, where the last sad rites were administered by the Order, which is very beautiful..Transcribed by: HWLOBO@aol.com

John E. D. Mount, who died May 1, 1890, was born July 27, 1829 in a brick house where the Nutt Hotel now stands in this city. He was married to Mary E. Boraker on Oct. 12, 1854. A wife and four children survive him, three children being dead. He has been a resident of this county the most of his life, and was an affectionate husband, a kind father, and a good citizen.
