Mote - Andrew - CW

Andrew W. MOTE, 70 years old, a veteran of the civil war, d.
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed CONRAD, a mi. W. of here
(Darlington) this morning at 10:30 o'clock as the result of a
paralytic stroke suffered some time ago. Mr. Mote was a son of
the late Mr. & Mrs. Enoch Mote and was b. on a farm near
Smartsburg Oct 23, 1846. Practically his entire life was spent in
this County. When the civil war broke out, Mr. Mote enlisted in
Co. C of the 135th regiment and after his discharge from this
company, enlisted in Co. I of the 11th In regiment. Mr. Mote is
survived by his dau, Mrs. Conrad, 3 grandchildren, one brother,
Charles P. Mote of Crawfordsville and two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte
KELSEY of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Carrie BEEBE of Shannondale.
