Joseph E. Morphew, 88, of CMR 8, died Saturday in his
home. He had been a railroader for many years and was also employed by
Western-Southern Life Insurance. He was a member of Crawfordsville First
Baptist Church. He was born March 28, 1885, in Putnam County, a son of
Joseph E. and Margaret Cox Morphew. He was married to Edna L. Rodgers
AUg 16, 1908. She died in 1968. Survivors include two sons, Herman E. of
Indianapolis and Herbert "Eddie" of Crawfordsville; a granddaughter and
3 great granddaughters. A grandson preceded him in death. Services will
be conducted at 2 p.m. Wed at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. The Rev.
John Carter will officiate. Burial in Harshbarger Cemeter near Ladoga.
