Morning - Polly Miles

Mrs. Polly Morning, the oldest resident in Waveland except one, died at noon on Monday. She was the daughter of George and Paulina Miles and was born near Freedom, April 16, 1834. She first married Thomas Miles, a cousin, in 1863. He died in 1884. In 1888 she married Robert Morning, a veteran of the Civil War, who died in 1891. She is survived by two brothers, John Miles of this place and Ben Miles of Marshall, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Bertha Butterlo, who lives in Michigan. Funeral service at the M.E. Church on Wednesday were in charge of Rev. J.B. Johnson. Burial at Union Cemetery. She was a member of the Baptist Church. -- typed by kbz
