Moore - John T.C.

John T. C. Moore was born September 18, 1841 and departed this
life Dec. 14, 1904 aged 63 years 2 months 26 days. He was born
and raised near Waveland. He enlisted in the Union army and was
a good soldier. He loved his country's flag for he for he was
willing to suffer the hardships of a soldier's life that the dear
old flag might be honored and the country saved. He was in a
southern prison for more than 3 months and the suffering was very
great. He was married to Miss Mary Spoonerman in the year '66.
To this union were born two children both died in infancy. His
wife died 1868. He was married again to Miss Emma Patton March
11, 1870. Seven children, two girls and five boys were born to
this union. All of them survive. He has living a mother, one
brother, one sister, a wife, 7 children and two grandchildren.
He has 3 brothers and 2 sisters dead. There were four brothers in
their country's service at the same time. The eldest brother died
in the service at Corinth, Miss the first one of them to pass
away. John was a good, loyal citizen, a true brother, an
affectionate, husband, a loving father, a helpful neighbor and
faithful friend. A precious one has gone form us and though the
body slumbers, the soul is safe in Heaven. Mr. Moore suffered a
stroke of paralysis Saturday morning. He was never able to speak
up to the time of his death on Wednesday. The funeral services at
the Baptist Church on Thursday afternoon were conducted by Rev JB
