David MOORE, a well known resident of Waveland died at his
home on W. Main Street on Sunday, after being ill some time with
consumption. THe funeral at the Christian Churcha t one o'clock
on Tuesday was conducted by Rev. EE Moorman. Interment at Old
union Cemetery. Mr. Moore was born near Waveland, Oct 19, 1844.
He mustered into the service Jan 23, 1862 and was mustered out
March 21, 1865. He served through the Vicksburg campaign took
part in the battle of Perkins Landing was wounded at Arkansas
Post, taken prisoner at Grand Coteau Plains and held prisoner for
two months. 19 men from this vicinity enlisted at the same time,
of whom but four survive.: John T. Moore, William Bridges, Milton
Kinder and WIlliam A. Cox. Mr. Moore was married to Margaret
Mitchell who with four sons, survive. He was a member of the
