WAYNETOWN – Mrs. Hazel E Moody, 77, of Waynetown, was fatally stricken about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday while in Crawfordsville. She was taken to Culver Hospital by Shipley’s Ambulance Service after employes of a drive-in eating establishment noticed her slumped over in her car. She had driven into the parking lot of the carry-out food service at South Grant Avenue and West Chestnut Street several minutes before but had not gotten out of her car. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Moody had made her home the past several years with her daughter, Mrs. Don (Rebecca) Perigo, and family in Waynetown. She was a native of Mace, born July 23, 1893 to Theodore, and Mary Hugelhiem Johnson. She married Claude Moody in November, 1909. He died in 1943. Mrs. Moody was a member of the Mace United Methodist Church. Surviving are the daughter, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Johnson of New Market, and sister, Mrs. Mary Tharp of Crawfordsville. A daughter preceded Mrs. Moody in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crawfordsville with the Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial arrangements are incomplete.
