ANN DIVINE MONTGOMERY

Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Montgomery, one of the most prominent women of this community (Linden) died at 5 o'clock Sat. afternoon at her home in Linden, after an illness of a year with complications. Mrs. Montgomery was the wife of Wallace Montgomery well known farmer and business man. She was b. July 14, 1857 in this state the daughter of David and Jennie Divine. She was a member of the Linden Methodist Church and belonged to the Eastern Star. She had been a resident of Linden for over 45 years and had earned the love of the entire community. Mrs. Montgomery was a woman of unusually splendid character, kind and friendly to all and possessed of a charm and refinement which gained her wide respect. Many prominent people of the County joined today in voicing tributes to this widely known woman. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Charles VanDyke of Crawfordsville; five sons, Paul, Harry and Isaac Montgomery of Linden, Charles Montgomery of Pasadena, Calif; and Donovan of Schenectady, NY; and one sister, Mrs. Blanche R. Harding of Crawfordsville. The funeral will be held from the home in Linden at 10:30 o'clock Tues morning. Bur. will be made at the Linden Cemetery  -- kbz
