Waveland -- Norman Dale Mitchell, 27, life long resident of the Byron and Waveland communities, died suddenly at 7 a.m. Tuesday at his residence in Waveland. He had been receiving medical treatment for two years. Mr. Mitchell was born July 10, 1935, a mile East of Byron. His parents, who survive are Fred and Lillie Mitchell. He was married in Crawfordsville on March 23, 1959 to Sharon Dickerson of Crawfordsville. She is among the survivors. He was a graduate of Waveland HS and engaged in farming at one time. He also had been employed by the Montgomery Co. Highway Department and prior to his death was employed at Weir's Radiator Shop in Crawfordsville. Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Byron Christian Church and had served as secretary and treas of the church Sunday School. He had been a member of the Waveland Army Reserves Unit for 8 years. Survivors other than the widow and parents include a son, Malcom at home; 3 brothers, Leonard of Ladoga; Kenneth of Waveland and Fred J. of Marshall; 7 nieces; five nphews, and several aunts and uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Byron Christian Church. Rev John Servies and Rev. Hugh Dooley will be the officiating ministers. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Machledt & Servies FUneral Home in Waveland from 4 p.m. Wednesday until 12:30 p.m. Firday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding rites.

Mr. Mitchell was born July 10, 1935 a mile east of Byron. His parents who survive are Fred and Lillie Mitchell. He was married in Crawfordsville March 28, 1959 to Sharon Dickerson. She survives. Graduate of WHS and had been engaged inf arming at one time; also had been employed by Montgomery Co Highway Dept. and prior to his death was employed at Wear’s Radiator Shop, Crawfordsville. Mr. Mitchell was a member of Byron Christian Church and had served as sec. And treas of the church Sunday School. He had been a member of Waveland Army Reserve Unit for 8 years. Surviving besides the widow and parents are a son, Malcolm; 3 brother, Leonard; Kenneth and Fred J; 7 nieces ; 5 nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held at Byron Christian Church with burial in Old union Cemetery near Waveland.
