Noben T. Mitchell, son of James & Lucinda Mitchell was born November 25, 1859, died Jan 25, 1921 at the age of 61 years, 2 months and 10 days. He was united in married on the 7th day of Feb 1885 to Miss Temple Robinson in which relation he proved to be a good, faithful and true husband. He lived always in the light of the Holy bond of wedlock and never violated the sacred vow made at the altar. To this union was born 3 children who survive: Benjamin Mitchell Byron, IN; Claude Mitchell, Wallace IN and Mrs. Myers of Crawfordsville, IN. Mr. Mitchell was by occupation a farmer in which calling he was successful. Honesty, associated with industry, characterized his life and won for him a good name, and those who knew him best called him friend and neighbor. To his children he was and is, a father in all the name means ever kind and loving, always carrying their interests in the heart. About two years ago, he and his good wife left the farm and moved to Crawfordsville where he proposed to live a retired life to help the grandchildren in obtaining an education as the time came. His kind and genial disposition made for him a friend of everyone he met who in return had a friend in him. He so maintained himself in all of his relations with his fellowmen, that they will join his bereaved family in saying "a good man has gone from us," and that it is their loss and not his. Death found him waiting at the gate with patience and hope, and looking with clear vision beyond the storm visited sea, to the land of eternal sunshine and he said, "don't mourn for me, I rest in peace." He leaves his wife, 3 children and 8 grandchildren, two sisters, Emily Starkey of Oklahoma City OK and Mary Nolen of Wallace, IN and among others many relatives and friends. - kbz
