Moses MITCHELL who has been in poor health for a long time, met death as he was driving his car on the road north of Byron at about half past 8 on Sunday morning. His car ran into the ditch near the TM Garland place, striking a light pole and breaking it off. Death, according to Coroner Branson who was summoned form Rockville resulted from a heart attack. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mitchell, and was born in Parke County near Byron June 30, 1874. He spent all his life in that vicinity and was a successful farmer and dealer in live stock. Funeral services were conducted at the home on Tuesday afternoon by Elder CI Airhart. Burial in Union Cemetery. He married Miss Artie HUDSON who survives him, with five children: Mrs. Fred Myers and Ruby Mitchell of Waveland; and Earl, Glenn and Donald Mitchell, all living in Detroit. One brother, Jesse Mitchell lives in Crawfordsville. While in poor health he had been helping some with the farm work and on Saturday had shucked corn for a couple of hours. Sunday morning he drove north of Byron to see Ben Mitchell and was on his way to his home when the fatal seizure occurred.
