Lewis W. Mitchell, commonly known as “Jake”, died last Friday morning, Jan. 31st, of brain fever. He had been sick for several weeks, but was not thought to be in a dangerous condition until Thursday, when he became suddenly worse and died as stated. He was a farmer, but for a number of years he had bought and shipped a large amount of livestock. He was buried at Old Union Cemetery on Sunday afternoon. (Waveland) -s
