Mrs. Artie MITCHELL, 73, died Wednesday evening Sept 27 at her home, near Byron. She had been in ill health for two years, but seriously ill for the past 10 days. Mrs. Mitchell was born May 10, 1877 in Parke County, the daughter of George and Jane Hudson. On September 1894 she was united to Mose L. Mitchell, who preceded her in death in 1937. She was a member of the Byron Christian church. Surviviors include 3 sons, Earl near Byron, Glenn at home and Donald of Mt. Clenets, Michigan; two daughters, Mrs. Clemmie Mitchell of Crawfordsville and Miss Ruby Mitchell at home; 3 brothers, Charley Hudson of Los Angeles, California; Perry Hudson of Marshall and Cecil Hudson of Alamo; one sister, Mrs. Mary Cox of Montezuma; two grandchidren. Three children, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Byron Christian Church with Rev. John Servies in charge assisted by Rev. J Noble Carothers. Burial in Old Union Cemetery near Waveland. Lillie Mitchell and Vrginia Husicker sang Eastern Gate, Beyond the Sunset and What a Friend accompanied by Elizabeth Coleman at the piano. Pall bearers were Robert MItchell; Bernard MItchell; Fred Mitchell, Jr.; Ova Keller; Henry Hudson, Fred Mitchell. - transcribed by kbz
