Martha Misner died following lengthy illness - former resident succumbs at daughter’s home in Lafayette

Mrs. Martha Alice Misner, former resident, died at 5 o’clock Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Roy Fishero in Lafayette according to a message received here by relatives. Her death followed an illness lasting fifteen months and was caused by a complication of diseases.

Mrs. Misner was 76 years old and was born in Montgomery county, June 18, 1859. She was the daughter of Harrison and Hannah Mastin. She was untied in marriage to Silas Misner in 1881 who preceded her in death.

Surviving are: two sons, {Cleveland] of Lafayette, and Clyde of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Dell [sic – Della] Fishero of Lafayette; two brothers, James and Bruce Mastin of this city; a sister, Mrs. Meissa (sic – Melissa?] Maxwell of Bellingham, Wash.; one step-son, Hail [sic – Harley?] Misner, and fifteen grandchildren. One daughter, Aline, died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Smith and Rogers funeral home in Lafayette and burial will be made at Rest Haven cemetery near Lafayette.
