LAFAYETTE – Cleve Misner, 82, of 1801 Pine Lane, Lafayette, died at 6 p. m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday. A Smartsburg native, he had been a cement contractor at Lafayette for most of his adult life.

He was a member of the Smartsburg Christian Church, American Legion Post 11 at Lafayette and had served in France with the U. S. Army in World War I.

Born March 13, 1893, he was the son of Silas and Martha Alice Mastin Misner. He was reared in the Crawfordsville area and attended Crawfordsville schools.

He was married to Margaret Ellen Baker in 1916 at Crawfordsville. She died Aug. 24, 1960.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Doris) Davis of Lafayette; six sons, Harold E., Donald L., Lowell M., Larry W. and Bobbie L., all of Lafayette, and Wallace of Buck Creek; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a. m. Monday in the Hippensteel Chapel at Lafayette with the Rev. Richard Baker officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park at Lafayette with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 11. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p. m. Sunday.
