Mrs. Emily Mish was born about two miles
north of Crawfordsville July 4th 1830; died Nov 19, 1918, aged 88
years 5 months 15 days. She has lived her whole life in the community. In 1850
she was married to Peter Mish who preceded her in death 26 years ago. To this
union was born 5 children all of whom have passed away except one son, John
Mish, with whom she made her home. She united with the Methodist Episcopal
church in 1868. Although physically
unable to attend church for several years, she has lived a faithful Christian
life. She was a tender, kindhearted
woman and was loved by all who knew her. The last year of her life was one of
affliction. She bore her suffering without a murmur or complaint always having
a kind word for those around her. She leaves one son, 7 grandchildren, 3 great
grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Funeral services were
held at the house at 1:30 Thursday p.m. by Rev. FG Howard and Rev. MM Canine.
Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. – Card of Thanks – We desire to express our
sincere thanks to our relatives, neighbors and friends for the kindness and
sympathy shown us in the sickness and death of our dear mother and grandmother,
Mrs. Emily Mish. Especially do we wish to thank the undertakers, HW Proffitt
& Son for their efficient service and kind attention, the Rev. FG Howard
and Rev. MM Canine for their consoling words, the singers, also for the
