Minnich - Charles Austin

New Ross, Aug 25 – Charles Austin Minnich, well known resident of the county died at his home four miles west of this place at 7:40 o’clock this evening after an illness of two months with heart trouble. He was born June 26, 1852 at New Castle, VA the son of Andrew J. and Adeline Minnich. He was married to Isabelle Downing on Jan 8, 1878. His father was killed during the Civil War, June 2, 1862 in the battle of Seven Pines near Richmond, Va. Ten years later, Mr. Minnich came to this state with his mother, a brother and sister, and had lived in this vicinity since that time. He was a member of the Mace K of P lodge and Mace Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle D. Minnich; four sons, Andrew E.; Harvey L; Romulus D. and Charles O. Minnich; three daughters, Mrs. Clara M. Peters of Lawrence, Kansas; Mrs. Avis Douglas of Beach, ND; and Frances Olive, at home. One brother, John L. Minnich of Pomona, Calif and one sister, Mrs. Frances Hinkle of Stillwater, Okla also survive. Funeral announcement will be made later. - kz
