Waynetown – Earnie Mills, 64, Waynetown retired farmer who died on an airplane Tuesday evening is survived by the widow, formerly Dora Schaller, three sons, Donald of rural Waynetown; Tim of Waynetown and Gene of Crawfordsville; two stepsons, Robert Schaller of near Detroit and John Schaller of Indianapolis; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jane Pickett of Alamo; a brother, Hadley Mills of Buckeye, AZ; two sisters, Mrs Rella Hadley of Brazil and Miss Tina Mills of California. The plane which Mr. Mills boarded in Chicago made an unscheduled stop in St. Louis and the body was removed and returned to Waynetown. He was en route to Phoenix, Az to spend the winter.  Mr. Mills had been taken to Chicago Tuesday morning by his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mills of rural Waynetown. His wife and another son, Tim left last Thursday by car for Phoenix and were waiting at the airport there for him. They were notified of the death by the airline officials. He was born in Ira, Mo and had spent most of his life in Montgomery County. He was first married to Shirley Chadwick who died in 1941. He later was married to Dora Schaller. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias. - transcribed by kbz
